Q. You say the Comora Bar is “not soap”, how does it differ from a bar of soap?
Soaps are mainly manufactured from fats and oils that react with Lye (also known as Sodium hydroxide) that creates an alkaline environment with an invasive stripping action on the skin. Lye is used in detergents, drain cleaners, and paper. Most “soaps” upset the skins’ natural pH balance of 5.6, creating irreversible damage to your skin over time and contributing to the formation of premature fine line and wrinkles. Soaps typically have a pH of 9-11, so they don’t play as well with the skin as the balanced Comora Bar.
Also evident in soaps are solid fats such as tallow (beef fat) or lard (pork fat) that are used so they stay hard and last for long periods of time (making you, the customer, think you’re getting a great deal). Rest assured the Comora Bar is free of these fats, filler ingredients and even water. Instead the Bar is packed with natural active ingredients operating at an “un-soap” like balanced pH level of 5.6, allowing the skin to behave in a toxin expelling and cell rejuvenating capacity.
The unique ingredient combination, comprised mainly of HeilMoor Clay or TeifenMoor from Austria, and specially formulated micro algae complex from France, work deep within the skin and penetrates all layers of the skin to detoxify, heal, nourish and renew your skin. Soap just doesn’t go that distance in the name of skin health. There’s just no comparison. It’s like comparing oranges to trucks !
By the way… Comora Products does not use any ingredients sourced from animals nor are any of the products tested on animals. And Comora products do not contain any artificial colors, chemical fragrances or dyes of any kind.
Q. Is it OK to use the Comora Bar during pregnancy?
Yes. The Comora Bar is so safe and natural you can use it on your baby as well! This makes it a great alternative to some products that you cannot use while pregnant or nursing.
Q. Is it OK to use Sunscreen with the Comora Bar?
Yes, you can and should always wear sun protection. We recommend using a sun protection with the active ingredients of zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide. These are made from natural minerals and work best with Comora products.
Q. Where does the Comora Bar originate?
The ingredients for the Comora Bar are sourced from Europe and then sent to Malaysia to a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Regulated facility where the bar is manufactured and packaged.
Q. Is the Comora Bar safe for use on all skin types?
Yes. Dark and light skin tones, dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, people who suffer from Psoriasis, Acne, Rosacea, mature skin, young skin, – All skin types can benefit from the gentleness and effectiveness of the Comora Bar.
Q. What is the ‘Healing Period’?
The Healing Period, often referred to as the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’, is typically 1 to 30 days and will vary based on the amount of toxins & unwanted contaminants beneath the surface of your skin. As the product detoxifies, bringing up toxins through the layers of your skin to the surface, there may be a period of time where the user experiences extremely dry skin, redness, irritation and sometimes a “breakout”. This just means the Comora Bar is working its magic to restoring your skin to its ultimate health. We typically discard a product when we experience such reactions, however this is part of the miracle taking place where the natural active ingredients of the Comora Bar are working deep within the layers of the skin, at a balanced pH level of 5.6, to dislodge and eliminate all of the toxins and substances the skin does not require for optimal health. Lack of such symptoms does not mean the bar is not working, it simply reflects the varied amount of toxins present, our skin is as unique as we are, and that your skin is not reacting externally as the toxins are expelled. The ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ will vary from person to person. Tip: Using all-natural moisturizers should help in minimize the effects of the healing period. Try to avoid using moisturizers containing AHAs, BHAs, Salicylic Acids, or Chemical fragrance. Also it is recommended to refrain from using mineral powders that are “buffed” in to your skin.
Q. Can the healing period occur more than once?
This is rare, but it can happen. Sometimes the healing period or ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ takes place in stages depending on what is deeply embedded in your skin. If you continue to persevere, the symptoms of the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ will lessen as your skin adjusts to a balanced, healthy state.
Q. Can the Comora Bar be used for life?
Yes, absolutely. The Comora Bar is meant to be used daily. It is non-toxic, extremely gentle and the active natural ingredients work at an optimal pH balance of 5.6 which is most effective on skin. Since our skin is constantly being exposed to toxins, chemicals and antioxidants, from both the environment and in our food and medicines, the longer you use the Comora Bar, the healthier your skin gets and stays. To regulate and balance skin health, it makes sense to incorporate the Comora Bar into your daily routine. Q. Which make-up is best to use with the Comora Bar?
Once again using all natural products is always recommended, including make-up and perfumes. After your skin adjusts to using the Comora Bar you will notice you will not need makeup as much to cover unevenness, blemishes and large pores. In fact, many customers tell us that their skin looks so great there is no need to use much else other than a little lipstick & mascara !
Q. Is your Product Vegan?
Yes, all our products are vegan. Comora Products does not use any ingredients sourced from animals nor are any of the products tested on animals. And Comora products do not contain any artificial colors, chemical fragrances or dyes of any kind.
Q. Is there any fragrance in your products?
There are no artificial fragrances in any Comora products. If you should happen to smell a light fragrance it comes from natural essential oils and extracts like Tea Tree oil, liquorices and green tea extracts to name just a few.
Q. Are there any chemical dyes or artificial colors in your Products?
No, Comora uses no artificial dyes or colors in any of the products at all.
Q. Which products are NOT compatible with the Comora Bar?
During your first 4-6 weeks, while your skin readjusts to a balanced state, we recommend not using products containing retinoids, AHA’s, BHA’s, etc. Once you feel you have completed the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ and your skin has adjusted, you are welcome to introduce and experiment with your favorite products. Just don’t bombard your skin with everything at once. Introduce other products one at a time, so that if you do experience a reaction you will be able to identify what caused it. Natural products are always recommended, and keep in mind that some products, particularly cosmetics, can have evidence of bacteria that we cannot see, as well as expiration points we may not be aware of. Trial & error and common sense will lead you to confirm what best works for your skin.
Q. What will happen if I use Mineral make up with the Comora Bar or Skin Health Systems?
Some of our customers have reported breakouts when using Mineral make up powders that are buffed directly into the skin. Please try to refrain from using them together.
Q. What moisturizers work best with the Comora Bar?
It is always recommended to use all natural moisturizers. Comora Products has developed an all natural moisturizer line which includes a water based By Day, an oil based By Night, and an Ultimate Serum (great for around the eyes) all formulated to work best with the natural active ingredients of the Comora Bar. Together these products form a most effective, complete Skin Health System.
Q. Can I use serums with the Comora Bar?
Yes, all natural serums are recommended for use with the Comora Bar. Comora Products has specifically formulated a powerhouse moisturizing serum, which is particularly good for around the eye area and great on wrinkles and fine lines. Comora’s Ultimate Serum contains up to 10 times the concentration of ingredients found in most moisturizers, and has been specifically designed to work best with the active natural ingredients of the Comora Bar.
Q. Why is it always recommended to use all natural products with the Comora Bar?
OK, think about it… if the Comora Bar promotes skin health with the natural active ingredients helping the skin to eliminate toxins, chemicals, antioxidants and contaminants, why would you defeat that purpose by applying anything other than natural ingredients that the skin can process for nourishment and moisture? If the function is to eliminate what is not needed in the skin to reach a balanced health from deep within, and all the way to the surface, it is counterproductive to introduce further contaminants to the skin other than natural ingredients that the skin can process and benefit from.
Q. Do I apply the Comora Bar to wet or dry skin?
The Comora Bar works on both wet and dry skin. Some people prefer to lather the bar in their hands, to a lotion like consistency, and apply it directly on clean, dry skin. Others like to use it right after their shower, when their skin is moist and damp. Some people actually apply it to their skin and leave it on all day as they find it really firms and tightens the skin by doing so. No matter how you use the Comora Bar, it is always best to start with clean skin, free of any makeup or creams, and leave it to dry on the skin for at least 3 minutes before rinsing off.
Q. Can the Comora Bar be used to shave with?
Absolutely. The lather from the Comora Bar is great to use as a shaving aid because it nourishes the skin and prevents ingrown hairs. Most of our customers that use it to shave with, particularly men, apply the lather to their skin and let it dry for at least 3 minutes. Then they use a bit of warm water on their finger tips to reactivate the dry lather back into a moist consistency before shaving the skin. You will notice a big difference in your skin when using the Comora Bar lather to shave with. It is completely unlike any other shaving aid out there, mainly because works deep within the skin to promote optimal skin health.
Q. Should I use a cleanser before using the Comora Bar or should I just use the Comora Bar to clean my skin?
The Comora Bar works great as a cleanser too, and you can certainly use the lather from the Comora Bar to cleanse the skin and remove light make up from your face. To simply clean the skin you don’t have to get the lather worked up to such a thickness and you don’t have to leave it on the skin to dry. Use circular motions when applying and just rinse off. You can then re-apply the lather from the Comora Bar as directed, by letting it dry on the skin for at least 3 minutes before rinsing off. If you choose, you can use a non-irritating, natural cleanser of your choice, just ensure it is not a “soap” which has a high pH level and can be counter active to the detoxifying and healing properties of the Comora Bar.
Q. Can I sleep with the Comora Bar on?
Yes you can, but on the face & neck area this is only recommended once your skin has completed the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ allowing the skin to adjust and balance itself out. If at any time you find your skin becomes too dry, scale back the drying time of the lather on your skin to 2-3 minutes, and do not use the Comora Bar more than once a day (yes, some people like to use it twice a day). Use your common sense to establish your own way of using the Comora Bar – it’s completely safe to use and you will find your comfort zone and modify your methods as your skin changes and is restored to optimal health.
Q. Can I put the Comora Bar around my eyes?
Yes, you can but since the skin around the eyes is much thinner and more fragile than the rest of your face, there is potential for it to become much more dry and sensitive especially when your skin is adjusting and going through the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’. During this time, and as an added effective boost to the eye area, try the Comora Ultimate Serum which will provide many healing properties that will deeply nourish and moisturize your skin.
Q. Does the Comora Bar work on other parts of my body?
Certainly, it works on skin anywhere on the body and is most effective on skin issues such as backne (acne on the back & other areas of the body), cellulite, stretch marks, age spots, discoloration and more. Q. I have been using the Comora Bar for 6 Weeks and my skin is still breaking out, why can this be?
There are a few explanations as to why your skin is still going through the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ for a longer period of time. The first reason may be that your skin needs extra time to adjust and balance itself out. Secondly, there’s a possibility that your skin has stored a lot of toxins and antioxidants over the years that need more time to be released. And lastly, it could be that you are using a product that is reacting negatively with the Comora Bar.
Q. Does the Comora Bar contain Gluten?
The Comora Bar and most of our skin health line does contain an extract of wheat in very minimum quantities. Those with a gluten sensitivity should exercise due care when using our products or consult their physician before use.
Q. Is it normal for my Rosacea, Psoriasis and Acne to get worse before it gets better?
Yes, any skin issue you are trying to address may become more pronounced and increase in intensity before it gets better. Please persevere as this should pass. It’s akin to cleaning out your closet… it gets worse before it gets better !
Q. What are the ingredients of the Comora Bar that make it so effective?
It’s really the natural active ingredients that work in combination at a balanced pH level of 5.6. HeilMoor clay, which is a 3000 year old natural herbal and botanical complex that has incredible therapeutic properties, works in conjunction with Tea Tree oil and a hydration micro-algae extract that is a special complex used to rejuvenate and moisturize skin cells (it’s also a great natural source of antioxidants and essential elements for skin health).

Q. I have been using the Comora Bar for 1 week, why is my skin so dry and red, and I even have a few pimples?
The action of the Comora Bar is to detoxify, nourish, heal and renew the skin. Your skin is trying to balance itself out and adjust to the activity happening deep beneath the surface. It has probably never been forced to expel what has been lodged deep within the layers of your skin. The natural active ingredients in the Comora Bar actually speeds up skin cell regeneration, and what’s coming up and out onto the surface is happening more quickly. Keep in mind that it takes 1 to 3 weeks for a pimple to form from the initial clogged pore. Breakouts you see now were forming under the surface before you started using the Comora Bar. The fact that you are experiencing dryness, redness and breakouts means the Comora Bar is working !
Q. I just got my Comora Bar and I can’t believe it’s so small! Did I get the right size?
The 25g Comora Bar resembles the size of a hotel bar of soap… but that’s where the resemblance ends abruptly. The actual dimensions of the 25g (0.882oz) Bar is 2.13 x 1.34 x 0.47 inches (5.4 x 3.4 x 1.2 cm)
And don’t let the size fool you as this little bar is solid and tightly packed with highly concentrated active ingredients. No fillers or water is contained in the bar at all. With daily use on the face and neck area, and not left to sit in a puddle of water, the bar will last 4-6 weeks (less and less as you discover the more the bar can do for the health of your skin on the rest of your body). And if others get their hands on your Comora Bar, well, all we can say is that you’d be best to purchase the 4 Bar pack and save yourself some money !
Q. Does everyone experience the ‘Detox & Heal Phase’ and have surface skin issues in this healing period?
Everyone is different, even if we share the same skin type we are all exposed to a unique cocktail of toxicity. Our skin functions along with us as the largest organ of our body and we exist together in a toxic environment. It doesn’t matter where we live or how careful we are, there is just no way to avoid environmental toxins. Inside and outside of our homes toxins are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink all over the planet. Having our skin exposed to so much, both inside and out, we really don’t know what is lodged deep within the layers beneath the skin that can sometimes manifest itself on the surface as a reaction like dryness, redness, blemishes, or in extreme cases, full on breakouts. Everyone will go through some form of a healing period. For most it’s a tingling sensation as the lather from the Comora Bar dries on the skin and is rinsed away. And for some it can be a situation of dry, sensitive, red, blemished skin. Q. Does the Comora Bar go bad or expire?
Wrapped, the Comora Bar is good for 2 years from purchase date, unwrapped for up to 6 months. And the moisturizers and Serum are stable for 1 year after manufacture, and 3 months after opening.
Q. Is the Comora Bar safe to use on pets?
Yes, many customers who have dogs and cats with allergies, or sensitive skin, or just plain need a good bath regularly use the Comora Bar to wash their pets hair and skin. It is very safe and effective to use on your pet.
Q. Is the Comora Bar easy to use for my teenage son’s acne?
Yes, it couldn’t be easier for him. He simply needs to work the Bar into a lather with a bit of warm water in his hands and let it dry on his face, for at least 3 minutes, before rinsing it off. The only problem is that if he gets caught up in his video games while waiting for the lather to dry, he may forget to rinse it off ! He may be camera shy like most teenagers suffering from acne, but if you can, convince him to take a before and after picture because the difference in his skin will blow his mind !
