Coconut oil and cream are both extracted from the meat of a coconut. It takes about 9000kg of whole coconuts to produce about 70L oil. The product remaining,after the oil is extracted, is used for animal feed. The fibrous material between the hard internal shell and the outer coat is called “coir” and is used for making floor mats, sacking and horticultural mulch. Overall, a great ecological process.

We humans mainly use the oil in our bodies for two purposes – cooking and cosmetic. Although the oil contains mainly saturated fats these do not increase LDL or bad cholesterol and in fact there is evidence that cholesterol is decreased. Perfect for use as a makeup remover and a light all natural moisturizer, CocoJoy is made from all natural active ingredients like the rest of the Comora family of products.

Though we haven’t had many reports of this happening, we do want to caution our customers that in a small number of people the mixing of mineral-based makeup with use of the Comora Beauty Bar will create a negative reaction that prohibits detoxification.

Recently one of our customers wrote to tell us about her new use for the Comora Bar. While spending a weekend at the cottage, in the height of black fly season, this lady found herself covered in bites.
